Privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026.
Filmroom is operated by Kaine Ventures LLC. This policy covers the Filmroom website and the Filmroom iOS app.
The short version
- Filmroom has no accounts, no advertising of its own and does not track you across other apps or websites.
- Your history, likes, Watch later list, playlists and settings stay on your device. We never receive them.
- We count visits and video plays without identifying you, so we know which parts of Filmroom get used.
- Videos play in YouTube's embedded player, so Google receives data when you watch. Google's privacy policy covers that.
What stays on your device
On the website, your library is kept in your browser's local storage. In the app, it is kept in the app's own storage, which the app's widgets can read. None of it is sent to us. If you export your library, the file goes wherever you save it. To delete it, clear the site's data in your browser, or delete the app.
The app adds the videos to your device's Spotlight search, and its widgets and Siri shortcuts run on your device. Apple handles those features under its own privacy policy.
What reaches our servers
The website is hosted by Vercel. When you load a page, search the website or when the app downloads catalog updates, the request carries your IP address, browser or device details and the address requested, including search words. We use these only to answer the request. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs for a short time for security and operations. We do not combine them with anything else or use them to identify you.
In the app, search runs on your device and is not sent to us.
Usage analytics
We use an analytics provider to count how Filmroom is used: pages viewed, videos played (by video id), app opens, and errors, together with the type of browser or device and approximate location (country, worked out from the IP address, which is not kept). We never send your library, your search words or anything that names you.
On the website, analytics sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device; the visit identifier lasts only while the page is open. In the app, a random identifier created by the app connects one device's usage over time. It is not linked to you, it is not used for advertising, and deleting the app removes it.
YouTube
Filmroom uses YouTube API Services. Videos play in YouTube's embedded player, and video thumbnails and channel images load from YouTube's servers. When they load, Google receives your IP address and device details, and the player may store cookies or similar data on your device. The player runs in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Filmroom does not ask for access to your YouTube or Google account and cannot see what you watch on YouTube.
By watching videos in Filmroom you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's use of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Filmroom shows short excerpts of public Reddit comments that recommended each video. Opening a thread takes you to Reddit, where Reddit's privacy policy applies.
Children
Filmroom is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Service providers
We use two categories of provider: website hosting and usage analytics. We share the named list on request.
Your choices and contact
Because your library never leaves your device and analytics does not identify you, we hold nothing we could tie to you to export or delete. If you have a question or a request about your data, email privacy@trackfilmroom.com.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. For help with Filmroom, see Support.
