On “getting put in a sprint race as a mid distance what do i do”

Okay, in the 200m, go *all out* from the start—full sprint. Don’t even think about taking the curve easy and saving for some “kick” in the last 100m. No. Send it 100% from the gun and try to hang on to your form at the end. To prepare, spend some time working on block starts. Practice these on the curve (as both the 200 and 400 start on the curve). Hopeful you have a coach who can help out. If not, there’s always YouTube. Like this video: link to this video

On “Any ques/tips for better first steps out of the blocks”

…are merely some suggestions that might work for you. I found some important information from this other wall of text: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1nNmry-qQee54yLjCzJiDBlWYKvcJXzXD2P3UbMKrmjc/mobilebasic As well as this video from the top sprinter in the world, who I have a strange feeling will get dethroned this year or next year :P : link to this video…

On “I ran 12.30 what should I do to run 11.5 I am in lane 5”

It definitely looks like your losing steps out of the blocks. It's hard to see from distance and the front but it almost looks like your not getting much lean once your loaded up in the blocks. From this view almost looks like your weight is further back than it should be but again it's hard to see this part. Your first 3-4 steps could definitely be lower and more lateral which would definitely be helped if I'm right about the block issue. Once you hit your full stride it does seem like your leaning back instead of keeping your chest forward and eyes somewhat more down. Hope that makes sense! Keep working you'll get there!! link to this video Heres a great video from Noah Lyles on block work

On “Advice on start”

It looks like you dont really know what you are supposed to do. i think after watching these videos even a beginner can tell whats fundamentally wrong with his start, and after actually learning what you are supposed to do you can come back with another video/post and ask how to this or that if its something is not clicking or too difficult for you Sprinting Technique | Faster Starts - Acceleration & Reaction Time - YouTube Block Starts - Key Angles & Positions #runfast #trackandfield Starting Blocks For Beginners! #trackandfield How To Get FASTER at BLOCK STARTS | Noah Lyles Kalen Walker Slow Motion Block Start - YouTube [Slow Motion Olympic Gold Medalist Marcel Jaco…
