Berlin 2009 - Usain Bolt with a New World Record in 9.58 over 100 m "Asafa Powell is the fastest out of the blocks - now it's Gay in the lead and now is Usain Bolt - no holding back - no, he wins - 9.58 WR"

What commenters say. Recommended to study elite acceleration and block starts, and to show that Bolt was not a slow starter.

On “Christian Coleman runs a 4.12”

Bolt being a "slow starter" is a myth that needs to die. He's leading after 20 yards in his WR race. Bolt can't run a sub-4.0 anymore, but when he was in his prime (2009) he most definitely could under the right conditions.

On “Tips on my start?”

You're standing up way too fast. If you're new you need to get used to leaning uncomfortably far forward, it should feel like you're going to fall on your face, and when learning you should accept that you'll fall once or twice because that means you're finding the edge. The fist 15 or so meters you should not be fully straight up. Look at this clip: [video See how every runner is facing down? That's because their center of mass isn't above their feet until roughly that point.
