What commenters say. Highly recommended as the definitive guide for learning 200m race strategy, curve running, and proper pacing.

On “How to run the 200m”

link to this video I haven’t watched but safe to assume because of ethos. Accelerate powerfully and patiently and relax in max velocity and very peacefully allow high speed running to occur. Do not strain or struggle near the end.

On “should 200m be a all out run or race strategy run ?”

I’ve always seen it as a strategy race. Push hard during the start and drive phases but run the middle part of the curve at approx 80%. However, my coaches always wanted us coming off the curve onto the straight at 100%. So at approx 85-90m, I would turn up the intensity of my arm movement, and really make a hard push coming onto the straight. My strategy would then be to relax and try to keep my stride open, arms/shoulders/neck relaxed to maintain as much speed as possible until the finish. Noah Lyles and talking about staying the middle of the lane in a 200, which doesn't really make sense to me. (Vid included). In this video, (2:30 mark)Noah talks about staying in the middle of the lane, saying "If you're on the inside, your cutting your stride.... if you're on the outside, you're running too far". This doesn't really make sense to me. Obviously you don't want to push the proximity too much, as you risk stepping out of your lane. But it seems obvious that there would be one fastest lane around the track (ie - if the track was one giant lane, everyone would run a similar pattern around the track), and it also seems obvious to me that it would be the very inside lane (th…

On “Hiii!!!! I need some advice/help”

Hey some advice watch this Noah Lyles breaks it down should help coming from a 4 time 200m champion link to this video My personal advice do speed endurance I know what you mean when that feel of the fatigue hits it’s meant to. its normal your body can only run 80m using oxygen the rest is pure will power that’s why the 200m is pure speed endurance. It’s like you build intensity think of the 200m like a 100m with a slingshot the bend is that slingshot. Try this speed endurance work out 180m-150m-120m-100m-60m do this at 70 percent speed take 5 mins rest in between every distance full rest is needed. this will ensure you run fast enough to use proper form and you can push your tolerance at at 70 so wh…
