Sydney McLaughlin runs a historic 49.85-second 400-meter anchor leg to secure a national record for her high school medley relay team.

Sydney McLaughlin runs an amazing 49.85 400 -- thought to be the fastest high school 400 split of all time, in any race -- to anchor Union Catholic to a national record .93 Swedish Medley Relay at 2017 NBNO. This is last-lap, hand-held, "you are there" footage.

What commenters say. Recommended as an incredible throwback race showing Sydney McLaughlin coming from far behind to win in high school.

On “What's that race that you keep watching over and over again?”

For most of the past 2 years, it's been the Doha women's 400H (Muhammad WR over Sydney again). Of course, Syd is now the queen of the event. Speaking of Syd, one of my favorites is from her HS days when she came from way, WAY behind to anchor a winning Swedish Medley relay at 2017 NSAF Outdoor Nationals (100-200-300-400). I think she ran 49-point. I shot this, so it wasn't the greatest quality. Still pretty awesome, in my opinion, LOL. [video
