What commenters say. Recommended for practicing low heel recovery and pushing mechanics, though commenters note to keep the head down.

On “Why am I cycling my leg through the first step and how can I fix it”

1. Work on wall drills (Make sure you keep your head at a 45 degree angle and eyes looking down, unlike the guy in the video). link to this video 2. Try and keep your cycling leg dorsoflexed when you bring it forward. A good way you can do this is by stacking 2 or 3 cut tennis balls on top of each other near where your problem leg is before you land and try hitting just them and not the ground. 3. Start visualizing everything you do before you do it. What I mean by this is literally run through it in your head while you’re relaxed before you work on it.

On “how do i get low heel recovery?”

Practice the pushing motion on a wall. Record yourself and try to do low heel recovery. Example link to this video As you get into block starts place a mini hurdle behind your pedals like this (near end of video) https://www.instagram.com/reel/DHAdTCwsGpN/?igsh=ejM4M25uY3dpcXlr I also had a video that i can’t find where people will out a small plastic shot cup in front of their steps which they try to kick as they push out.
