What commenters say. Recommended for studying takeoff mechanics and as an illustration of how the body can clear the bar while the center of mass remains below.

…k about the arch: with the right approach (read: with the right "physics" at take-off), that "arch" will be ABOVE your center-of-mass. Which is to say, **your body can be OVER the bar while your center-of-mass is BELOW it.** Videos: Sport Science illustration of the center-of-mass point Stefan Holm being a boss Jumping 2.30 in practice (link to this video An amusing high jump video (link to this video How old are you? On “I have a goal of beating the school record (5’10) Tuesday and I really would appreciate some tips to get the extra 2 inches needed 🙏🏽(sorry for my friends screaming)”

I’m not sure if you feel it but at takeoff, your plant looks like your trying to jump off of two feet instead of one. If you tighten up your approach to make it less curved and take off further away from the bar, you’ll clear that easily. I’m putting in a link to a high jumper named Tora Harris and I think you could benefit from watching his takeoff mechanicsTora Harris
