What commenters say. Recommended to help a hurdler correct their lead leg form and prevent it from rotating out to the side.

On “I won my 8th grade 110m hurdles.”

Congratulations! Way to fight at the end. I always had my 8th graders focus pretty hard on their technique going over the hurdles. As you age, you will naturally get stronger and faster, so three-stepping will become easier and easier. Getting the fundamental technique down is pretty helpful. Hurdles are actually way closer to sprinting than most people who don't do them realize. Hopefully this helps, but when you're going over the hurdle with your lead leg, lead with a powerful drive of the knee (while flexing your toe). The goal is to make the transition from going over the hurdle back to sprinting as natural as possible. This drill helped me a ton when I first started: link to this video

Slow video down - watch your lead leg - it rotates out to the side before you go over the hurdle, it should just lift straight up with your knee. For comparison look at the girl in light blue ahead of you. That lift to the side is causing you to lean to the side and that’s going to take a lot of your momentum away over each hurdle.
