What commenters say. Recommended for learning the glide technique, focusing on body positioning, flat back, and dynamic starts.

On “What should I change?”

Have a flat back when you're loading up, and get low like a loaded spring. Check this quick video out - [video You might want to consider a dynamic start, like the video. Can also kick that left leg back straighter. Looks pretty good tho, off to a solid form already so can only improve. Good luck this season.

On “Standing throw distance versus full throw distance?`”

Well, from what I have learned, a standing throw only involves upper body, is where you just face the pit with your toes against the toeboard. A power throw/position is a mimicry of the position you end up in in a perfect form full. What I meant by opening the hips wide is that because of the foot not being under you your hips open more and instead of being like a whip its more like a gradual motion. link to this video if you go to 2:48 and look at him, you can see he is in the "power" position and his hips are closed off. Its like, if their was a big red line pointing out where is hips are pointing, it would be very close to the middle of the ring.

On “Rate my form: Self-taught, no coach, lots of youtube.”

For one, you are over handing the ball instead of pushing it out which is decreasing your throw. Also your left arm isn’t adding anything to your throw. You immediately raise it once you start moving to the front of the circle which is effecting your balance and power. You are twisting your body before your feet have grounded which is effecting your throw as well, keep your body facing the back of the circle until your feet ground. Here is a video to show you more ideal glide form and how the block arm should be used: Link
