Christian Taylor explains the importance of dorsiflexion upon ground contact to engage the glutes and hamstrings and reduce impact.

Christian Taylor shows the advantage of properly using dorsiflex action. It causes the glutes and hamstrings to fire while creating great connection with the ground. By having dorsiflex, you eliminate unnecessary impact to the knees and shins. You can practice this motion at home, walking around, etc. Website: flotrack.org Subscribe: bit.ly/2oK0ydE Get the FloSports iOS app: bit.ly/FloTrackiOSApp_9 Follow FloTrack Facebook: facebook.com/FloTrack Twitter: twitter.com/flotrack Instagram: instagram.com/FloTrack

On “1 step Triple Jump Form Analysis”

Couple things I think you would want to be dorsiflexing when you contact the ground. Great job attacking the ground but it looks like you land on the forefoot. Think Christian taylor explains this pretty well in this vid link to this video I also think you should try dropping your hop phase right leg and taking off lower like in this vid link to this video I think doing this will allow you to carry your speed better once you lengthen out your approach. Also your left leg in the takeoff, it looks like you are forcibly bringing it up to the front. Not sure if this is solely due to the short approach, but I always thought the takeoff leg should come to the front as a symptom of your hips stretch reflex and running…

On “Technique”

Basic tips -When going through your phases, you should be hitting you heel and “pulling yourself forward” Try not to focus too much on the pull part as it’s pretty hard to implement for starters Olympian and 2nd farthest jump holder explains this motion perfectly here: link to this video -Every phase is a result of the previous one since your momentum carriers over - If you want further phases, run faster. Don’t jump higher YET. Speed comes first because it can be very difficult to handle the impact of a higher jump. - At an intermediate level, triple jumping is almost never an all out sprint. This is not the 100m. Your sprint should be very very controlled for take off. - Triple jump spik…
