What commenters say. Recommended to study for its unique, powerful leaping start and to understand proper ankle stiffness in the first steps.

On “Can someone make a Ben Johnson start tutorial?”

He was a literal freak when it came to block starts, his feet position is so close together and literally jumps out moreso than anyone else who's done it. link to this video

On “Please critique my block start”

I was looking you up to reference your high volume post in a post I was making. Then I came across this video. It is ok to have a start that is different. Your start reminds me of Ben Johnson, one of the greatest starters in history. I think he is someone you should study. link to this video He does the same leap that you do but while he is in the high arc of his leap he brings his other leg and starts the next step. Whereas you are waiting to get all the way to the end of the leap and crashing into the next step experiencing some decelerations. I wouldn’t get rid of your jump start because I think you can turn it into something special.

On “10m sprints”

…ing the heel drop to the ground totally, it's almost a mid foot strike. Same story with step number 5. However, even looking at the earlier steps, you can see the lack of ankle stiffness (heel drops after contact). I could understand if it was 5th or 6th step where that is happening, but the first 3 steps need to be sharp and professional (proof: [video ). Your stance is like a football guy stance, which is okay I guess. It's very wide, but it worked for Ben Johnson ( [video ), until it didn't. The truth hurts, but it's necessary to grow. Good luck…
