What commenters say. Recommended as a solid guide for recovering from a grade one hamstring strain and safely rebuilding strength.

On “How long does it take to lose your progress youve made by training if you strained your hamstring”

The big thing about hamstring strains is how likely re-injury is. Usually the re-injury is quite a bit worse. Take the hit, rehab properly! and take a gradual approach to go back to performance. My intuition is that the progress is lost once the strain occurs. But you need to keep training to build it up again. And make your hammies get used to the load again. I found this rehab program to be quite good: link to this video

On “Hamstring Cramp or Strain?”

Most likely a grade 1 strain since you were able to jog the rest of the race. Just be smart and don’t run for a little while and slowly build the strength back up. This is a pretty solid video of a grade 1 hamstring rehab process, it only took this guy 2 weeks to get back to 100%. Here’s the vid and feel better soon! Be smart and DO NOT run if you don’t feel 100% confident in your hammy. link to this video

On “Please help!”

Don't stretch an injured body part right after you hurt it. Here is some good info on how to deal with a minor hamstring injury. No gym needed. [video If the injury is severe, see a professional.
