Watch here: youtu.be/VveTiTddeEQ In this video coach John Shepherd (johnshepherdfitness.com/blog) re-visits the hang technique adding further thought and technical consideration to one of the most popular of long jump mid-air actions. This video follows on from the one he produced on the hang previously and updates on knowledge and thinking. Different styles of the hang are considered such as the hang and the hitch-hang and drills and practises are identified that will help in performing whatever version of the hang selected optimally, Speaking of which some common faults are also identified and solutions provided. The video concludes with a bit of a case study of one's one John's squad of Jumpers Paul Ogun and his transition from a hitch-hang to a hitch-kick. On “Long Jump Technique Help!”

You have a great takeoff! It’ll be hard to make meaningful changes in such a short time but try to hold your hang longer. The idea is to get as long as you can to prevent forward rotation as longer levers will take more force to rotate and thus counter act forward rotation. You kinda have a hang but it’s sort of a hitch-hang. Check out this guy’s channel. It’ll help over the long term. John Shepard Hitch Hang Good luck bro! And hold that hang!

On “How can i make my landing better, what mistakes am i making?”

By "cycle my front leg" are you meaning to use a hitch technique? Some long jumpers hitch and some hang. I think both work depending on the athletes preference and body mechanics. You'll have to find what works for you. There are heaps of good videos on LJ technique on YouTube. Here's a basic one. [video
