Evelyn Ashford runs an incredible anchor leg to secure gold for the USA in the 1988 Olympic 4x100m relay.

One of the best relays of all time - Evelyn Ashford has the anchor of her life with an unbelievable finish!! EPIC USA vs. East Germany vs. Soviet Union Olympic Women's 4x100 Final, Seoul 1988. USA legs: Alice Brown, Sheila Echols, Florence Griffith-Joyner, Evelyn Ashford. USA barely made it into the final after confusion as to who would run in the semifinal, they had to scramble at the last minute to find 4 runners. Evelyn Ashford after the semi: “You people just don’t know how lucky we were to get that stick around today, I’m telling you.”

On “Who is the greatest American Sprinter?”

I was gonna say Evelyn Ashford, both because she was my fav and because she saved the 4x100 in ‘88 Olympics. Flo Jo got all the attention, but Evelyn was just a natural talent. link to this video
