For any sprinters that are looking to get the basics down Part 1 (link to this video Part 2 ( link to this video These are great videos to get the very basics of sprinting down, from the 100m to the 400m. Of course, like with most advice, take them with a grain of salt (don't follow every word of the video like the bible and don't be afraid to look up more info)

On “Begining to start sprinting, where to start?”

I would start with the followings: * How To Sprint - Pt. I * How To Sprint - Pt. II * Sprint basics: * 100m training Plan: * Block setup: Make sure you search this subreddit, google, youtube and this website for information. Learn about biomechanics of sprinting, and acquire good knowledge of developing strength in the weight room.

I'm just starting sprinting training, about 2 weeks of trying different set up. My goal is overall health, perhaps muscle building and a little fat loss. I'm 5'11 and 155 lb. I'm sprinting 3x a week, 4x 100m street in roughly 20 seconds, with about 1- 2 minute rest, or until I can run at max speed again. I do a warm up of buttkicks, high knees, sprinter's karaokes, skips, exaggerated strides, and sprint kicks(?) with emphasis on kicking forward and striking the ground. basically Destorm power. And warm down, I do yoga. This seems good for now. Should I change it or increase the reps? Also is there any other exercise you would recommend to add in for overall health or helping sprints? I…

On “Technique tips sideview video”

Weighted squat jumps, Plyometrics and -heavy weight/low rep- calf raises will strengthen that area and give you good plantarflextion strength. Also at the track, do some "walk on toes" drills. Another good drill to teach that motion of the foot is straight leg bounds, but if your plantarflexion really *is* weak as you think, i would do the others for a couple of weeks first before this drill.
