Latif Thomas demonstrates how to teach and perform the A-march, A-skip, and fast leg drills to reinforce proper ranges of motion.

Latif Thomas simplifies teaching sprint drills to your athletes. In this clip, he addresses the proper way to both teach and perform drills such as the 'A March,' 'A Skip' and 'Fast Leg.' REMEMBER: Drills don't teach or fix full speed technique. They just reinforce proper ranges of motion. Set up your sprinters for success before the gun goes off. On “Flying 40m. Any advice?”

2 things: Front mechanics: A sprinters foot should land under their hip or center of mass. Your foot plant is ahead of that point. Work on landing on your foot under your hips. If you drew a line from the center of your hip to the ground, that's where your foot should land. Secondly, rear mechanics: There's a saying, "don't show your spikes to Jesus", meaning your rear foot is coming up in back too far. After push-off, your foot should come back up under your butt.
