No person on this planet can run the 400m all out from start to finish. It's impossible. This youtube video explains how the body taps energy, builds fatigue, etc. during a 400m, and running it all out from start to finish is impossible. Or look at it this way -- Wayde Van Niekerk holds the current men's 400m world record at 43.03. Wayde's fastest 200m time is 19.84. If Wayde were able to hold that 19.84 200m pace for the full 400m, he would run the 400m in 39.68.
