Dan Pfaff explains how stride length, frequency, and body angles must progress harmoniously with each step during proper acceleration.

Acceleration is a change in velocity over time. That rate of change depends on the sporting task. Three steps to deliver contact demands a different acceleration profile than a 100 m race. Here’s the key: in good acceleration, stride length and stride frequency rise together, step by step. As they grow in harmony, contact time drops, air time rises, and the athlete earns enough time to reposition the limbs and apply force again. Then the angle changes. A strong start begins around 40 to 45 degrees, and the athlete reorganises that line by about 5 to 6 degrees each step. If you want cleaner decisions on what to coach first, this is where it starts. 🎯 Develop this lens inside Coaching Eye. 🎯 Learn how Dan Pfaff evaluates movement in real time, starting 10th January 2026 🚨 Secure your spot - limited places now remaining: loom.ly/NK783K8
