On “Start critique?”

When driving out your body should have triple extension in a straight line, whereas when you come out the blocks you pop straight up but keep your head bent over and back rounded. As a result you also pick your heels up quite high at the back rather than maximising horizontal push. You want to have triple extension so you can more effectively push rather than moving a lot but not going anywhere. Watch this video, notice how everything is linear and when he brings through his heels they're low to the ground but the stride length is still maximised.

On “Arm swing in set position?? why do my hands go up and reverse instead of straight exploding forward and backwards”

Idk what this other guy is talkin bout in regards to flexibility 🤣🫠don’t listen to him. Your Issue is very common. Practice what you are trying to do…. look closely at Asafa‘s arm action: link to this video The forward swinging arm is the issue for most people, the initial forward arm swing, while getting out of the blocks is primarily flexion of your biceps (not a ton of movement with the shoulder) So how do you work on this: -Maurice Green Drill( link to this video @2:05) : get on your knees(pause😂), hands on the ground and just practice that arm action, the key thing to work on is to initiate the forward arm swing by flexing your bicep. Make that hand swing up!!! -Once you got this down you try to do…

On “Tips on my starting form? I feel like I need some help. (Note that I don’t have starting blocks)”

if you watch Usain Bolt there’s somewhat of a jump out of the starting block and try and work on dragging your second step. link to this video

On “Tip”

It looks like you're artificially hinging at the hips in order to "stay low" which is a big reason why I prefer not to use that cue with my athletes. Instead, focus on elongating your body, keeping your body in a straight line, and projecting forwards. It may feel like you're staying low, but from this video it appears that your shin angles are more upright after about your 3rd step. Your first step is actually not that bad but afterwards your knee drive starts lacking and messes up your angles. You're also not drawing as much power from your arms as you'd like which means less forward momentum which causes your body to stand up to compensate. Also for your first couple of steps, your lead h…

…to hips, and then hips to neck, vastly different (right before you take your fist step). This not only shortens your step but causes a lot of braking force making it look like you're just walking out before you sprint. Look at asafa powells start (not paying attention to the toe drag) to get an idea what I'm talking about at the 39 second mark. [video You can try to upload your video to youtube and then use the 0.25x speed on settings to get a better idea what I'm talking about.…

On “Form critique plz”

So the entire problem is with your left leg. Your left leg should be as close to the ground as possible after starting to the point that your toes should drag. You seem to be bringing your left foot up breaking at the knee which makes your strides produce less horizontal force and more vertical force. That is why you don't have a smooth drive phase and break at the back to simulate it. [video
