What commenters say. Recommended for explaining backside mechanics and providing cues to prevent over-striding and improve foot recovery.

On “any help? I’m a 11.2 runner, and I’m seeing no progress!”

Backside mechanics. While I know you aren't spending much time at top speed in this clip, I can see that you're "showing your spike plate to Jesus." Here is a video explaining these mechanics from the guy who introduced me to that cue: [video I did 4x5 wall flicks, alternating fast and slow sets to work on brining my foot underneath my glute.

On “How to improve sprinting times without a coach?”

First of all, great job on that progression and improvement this season. The biggest thing to train at your age is max velocity, specifically at the 40-60m distance. Max velocity training is running as fast as you can (with good acceleration mechanics) and taking a sufficient amount of rest between reps. Endurance work is important, but not as helpful as being able to run fast with ease. Technique is also really important for improvement. Here is a good video on technique that might be helpful: [video Best of luck!

…the track, we would do a-skips or high knees with an emphasis on keeping the knees high. Medically, I would coach them out of movement patterns that are more likely to produce injury, such as having a forward trunk lean on ground contact, which lengthens the hamstrings and puts them in a mechanically disadvantageous position. Sprinters often do heavy squat variations to improve lower body force production, with some specifically aiming to improve the glute muscles, while others controversially feel the quads are as important, at least in the acceleration phase of sprinting.
